Olcost is a fintech app built for personal finance tracking. The idea came from a very real frustration. The client couldn’t find a product that truly matched the expectations of a modern user. Most existing apps, including products like Spendee and Monefy, feel overloaded with complex interfaces, confusing navigation, unnecessary actions, and hard to understand charts. Instead of helping people stay consistent with budgeting, they often push users away entirely. The goal behind Olcost was to do the opposite. Make the experience simple, intuitive, and emotionally clear, with focus placed not on complicated reports, but on everyday meaning and habit building. At its core, the product was inspired by the feeling of modern banking apps. Clean, calm, mobile first, and frictionless. Users open the app not because they have to control their finances, but because the experience naturally becomes part of their routine. The design was built to support exactly that feeling.

A series of interviews with the client helped define the core audience, young professionals between 25 and 35 who want to stay in control of their finances without turning budgeting into a second job. From there, we mapped the product flow, user journeys, and app architecture before moving into the brand creation phase, including naming, logo design, visual identity, and the overall UI direction. The visual system was built around the contrast between a soft purple base and warm yellow accents, creating a balance between calmness and focus. We chose a clean grotesque typeface optimized for mobile readability and designed every screen with careful attention to spacing, hierarchy, categorization, onboarding hints, push notifications, and banking integrations. Olcost doesn’t just track transactions. It helps users save smarter, build financial habits, and feel a sense of progress through the experience itself.

The prototype was later used by the client during investor demos, where the response was overwhelmingly positive. The simplicity of the experience, thoughtful logic, and absence of unnecessary complexity immediately stood out and helped move the project into development. The client is now preparing the app for launch on the local market to validate the first hypotheses and gather user feedback. What we delivered was more than interface screens. We built a complete foundation for growth, including the design system, brand identity, product flow, and a scalable user experience. This project became a great example of how thoughtful design can turn a complex financial tool into something intuitive, approachable, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
